PERCH's NMR Software Tools are designed to run under Windows XP. Support for Vista & Windows 7 still under testing but in general the use of Windows 7 should be preferred over Vista. Linux is not supported (yet).
The installation package requires about 60MB and the complete installation takes about 100MB disk space. Memory requirements depend largely on the kind of structures handled. Typical memory usage is between 50-100 MB but can be considerably higher for larger systems. When encountering memory allocation faults it is recommended to increase the virtual memory used by Windows first. If this helps increasing RAM is recommended to speed up operation.
IMPORTANT: PERCH requires the user having read & write access to the PERCH directory.
Installation from a single ZIP-archive
PERCH's NMR Software Tools are packed in a single ZIP-archive. Unpack the archive to the directory PERCH under the TopSpin directory. No entries in the Windows startup folder or desktop are made. To access the tools, generate shortcuts to the following programs:
- ACA1D.EXE is the executable for 1D ACA
- ACA2D.EXE is the executable for 2D ACA
- MMS.EXE is the executable for the Molecular Modeling System.
- WPERCH32.EXE is the executable for the PERCH Shell.
- REGPERCH.EXE is the executable for PERCH’s license manager
Additional Runtime Libraries
Additional runtime libraries might be requires. If there are problems running ACA please install the two following Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries:
If you cannot open the PERCH Shell or the license manager please install the necessary Microsoft OCX libraries by running the following batch file:
· REG_OCX.BAT
Installing those runtime libraries requires admin rights.
Licensing
To run PERCH's NMR Software Tools within TopSpin 3.0 a license from PERCH Solutions is required. To request a license run REGPERCH.EXE (in the PERCH directory), fill the license request form and send the request to: license@perchsolutions.com
If the license manager cannot open the default mail client, please send the file LICINFO.TXT from your PERCH directory attached to an e-mail to the above address.
Within 1-2 business days you will receive a license key at the given e-mail address. Restart REGPERCH.EXE and paste the complete key including the –start- and –end- tags into the dialog box.
For AMIX you will also need a separate Flex-license to access the PERCH Tools from within AMIX. Please contact BRUKER's license request.
